Rates and terms are provided by lenders and may change without notice. Where a lender has not published a clear interest rate, this is noted above — always confirm the full cost of borrowing directly with the lender before signing any agreement. LoansInZambia is a comparison platform, not a lender. We don't charge fees and don't guarantee loan approval.

Why we built this

Why Zambians trust us

Borrowing money in Zambia should not feel like guesswork. Too many people only find out the real cost of a loan after they have already signed for it. LoansInZambia exists so you can see the terms first, before you commit to anything.

We do not lend money ourselves and we never charge you a single kwacha to compare or to apply. Every lender on this site has been checked for how clearly they publish their rates and terms. Where a lender has not made their rate public, we tell you plainly instead of guessing or hiding it from you.

We are not a bank or a registered financial institution. LoansInZambia is an independent platform that helps you compare what is already out there. The lenders listed here are responsible for their own approval decisions, their own terms and their own regulatory compliance.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions about loans in Zambia

Most lenders want you to be at least 18 years old, have a valid NRC and show that you have some steady income coming in, whether that is a salary, a pension or a business you run. Some of them will lend to you without asking for collateral, depending on how much you want to borrow and which lender it is.
You will usually need your NRC, proof that money is coming in such as a payslip or bank statement, and sometimes proof of where you stay. What exactly they ask for depends on the lender, so check the specific lender's page before you start an application.
They can be, as long as you are borrowing from a lender that is upfront about its rates and terms. We only list lenders we have checked for transparency, but it is still worth confirming a lender's registration with the Bank of Zambia yourself before you hand over any personal or financial details.
It depends on the lender and the type of loan. Mobile loans and salary advances are often approved within a few hours. Personal loans and business loans through a bank usually take longer, sometimes a few days, because there is more paperwork to check.
Often yes. A number of lenders give better rates or higher loan amounts to civil servants and other salaried government workers because their income is seen as more predictable. Compare a few lender profiles to see who offers something specific for government employees.
